Another sound recording gig! This time we're in the catacombs at West Norwood Cemetary. It's not so spooky with that number of crew around....unless of course you wander off into the dark on your own to get some atmos sounds. We're doing post for this one and it's going to be huge - more details later. 

Up nice and early today to go and record sound for Nick Scott's new short 'School Portrait'. It was great to see JR being mean to the kids and them getting their own back when they'd finished shooting. Lovely crew too - all in all it was well worth dusting off the location kit for! 

It's been very hard to not be influenced by the amazing soundtracks by Daft Punk [Tron Legacy] and Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross [The Social Network]. 

So, after a period working on mellow acoustic organic tracks the pendulum has swung the other way and this week we're all about giant synth sounds and vintage drum machines. We're currently still at the demo stage but the signs are looking good for both Power Pop II and some interesting cinematic soundscapes.

We've just been through the archive grabbing all the sounds we've created for games over the last few years. There were a lot more than we thought! And there's also a lot of great game-style music loops that will be finding their way onto library sites in the near future. 

Just finished mixing the new set of acoustic tracks - sounding great! I used all the tricks for recording live and DI'd guitars. And the baritone guitar got its first outing on a recording for ages.

The first thing to do after the bank holiday yesterday was to venture over to east London and sit in on the Mastering of our new 'Power Pop' album. After a couple of 'kickstart' coffees mastering engineer Dave Blackman did a terrific job of adding some extra magic to the album. Can't wait for people to hear it! 

This morning was  the recce to Norwood cemetary for the Tate Britain film . The catacombs are hugely spooky! Full of lead lined coffins and impossibly rusty iron gates. 

Great gig with The Anthologists last night at the Luna Lounge in Leytonstone [bithplace of Alfred Hitchcock] - Neil and Jeff filmed it so the band website will be 'media rich' very soon.
